Beautiful job on the fur and I really love his eye. I also like how you did the whiskers where you can see the white but there is also the grey so the whiskers appear on the white paper. I think the composition is the only thing off as the fur ends funny making the cat appear as a circle with ears. I do like the placement though. I think it should have faded out more gently and not as evenly to produce a shape. Also, great tonal values, I really like how dark and light you go in this piece. Wonderful job and beautiful cat!
I adore your use of pencils; the delicacy of your strokes and how you can see the minute details of the fur, all the changes in the tones, how it darkens and lightens according to the animal's markings, and how it's like each hair is visible, and with a very realistic shine. The nose is smooth and very lifelike, and the eye is astounding, clear and reflective and completely realistic. The tuffs of hair under the neck seem less realistic, perhaps it's the dark borders around the clear hair, if they were smoother they would look more lifelike; the fading of the figure into the background should be smoother, softer, so neither the composition or figure wouldn't suffer. Excellent technique!
Beautiful drawing. It looks much like my aunt's cat that she had years ago. He was part Bob cat, and part Maincoon. Love your gallery by the way. I can't pick just one favorite. I'll start with this one however.
I think it needs more blank space to the right, so to speak, so that it could breathe. Safe for that only, it's incredible, totally stunning! Loads of realism, fluffy fur and admirable contrast. Oh, and it's got spirit, the eye and everything.... is just living.
